storyofagayboy:

ARIZONA SENATOR COMES OUT
45-year-old Steve Gallardo, the Democratic Senator from Arizona, made an announcement Wednesday that shocked some and brought support from many - He is gay. Gallardo told NBC News; “I’m a Latino, I’m a native of Arizona, I come from a Catholic family and I’m gay, it’s OK.” This comes less than one week after he openly advocated against the so-called ‘religious freedom’ bill, which would have allowed businesses to deny service to homosexuals. The bill was vetoed by the governor. “If I can make it easier for just one person, it’s worth it,” he said after saying he doesn’t care how this affects future elections, “this is bigger than any race.”
Please join me in congratulating Mr. Gallardo and thanking him for his service, as well as his fight against the oppressive bill in Arizona. I wish him the best in this new, open chapter of his life and hope this is a weight off his chest.
